【Basics】"mainly" (adv.)

• “主要” (zhǔyào): mainly, primarily 
  Indicates the main aspect, focus, or component of something. It is often used to describe the primary characteristic or purpose.
• “大部分” (dàbùfèn): most, the majority
  Refers to the majority or a large part of something. It is often used to indicate a quantitative majority.  So it is basically a noun, though it might be translated as an adverb. ("大部分" serves as a "part" of a whole, so it usually follows the "big to small" word order, such as 全世界大部分的国家.../全世界大部分的國家..."most countries in the world".  But we also know that,  rather than saying 美国大部分的人.../美國大部分的人..."most people in the U.S....", many people prefer saying 大部分的美国人.../大部分的美國人..."most Americans...", because that sounds the same as English.)
  
• “以...为主” (yǐ...wéizhǔ): mainly, primarily focus on
  Indicates that something primarily consists of or focuses on a specific element. It is often used in contexts where a particular component or aspect is the primary one among others.
